We believe that Jesus Christ gave the church its purpose in Matthew 28:19-20, "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

Therefore, our purpose is to lead people to a life of faith in Christ and then on the journey to full devotion, one life at a time.

"A Church anyone can come to."

God is doing extraordinary things at Twin Oaks in 2008 as hundreds of new friends have found it to be a welcoming and safe place to seek God, connect with others and find the answers to big questions of life. Our new home at the intersection of Dix/Toledo and King in Woodhaven is already overflowing with people and praise as God is changing lives and healing hearts and many people are finding fresh new starts with Jesus. From the welcoming design of our unique building to the welcoming attitude of our people, there is an atmosphere that has caused so many guests to tell us that the moment they enter, they feel comfortable and welcome and "at home". We believe you will find the same to be true.

  • Hearing the Voice of Jesus
  • Best of all your memories would be remembering the sweetness of the sound of the voice of the Lord. About supper time each day, a gentle breeze would whisper by and then you would hear the voice of God. And your ears that He created would hear the sweetest sound of all, the Voice of Jesus who created them! But then enters the bad guy to Paradise. Someone doesn't want you to listen to the Voice of Jesus today. more >>

  • How to Be a Godly Rebel Part 1
  • God's people often are in a dilemma. While we are citizens of heaven, we're nevertheless instructed to be good and involved citizens of our country. Scripture commands us to both obey God and to submit to human governing authorities. But what do we do when those two realms of authority come into conflict? Do we yield to biblical injunctions to obey God regardless? Or do we follow the equally authoritative biblical imperatives to obey the civil government? Jesus said to "render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's" (Luke 20:25), yet godly men and women occasionally rebelled against the rule of human authorities. At the same time, we encourage respect for governmental authorities. Which is correct? Aren't there times when it's right to rebel?

  • The Light Shines in Corinth #3 of 4
  • Often a great way to present the gospel is to just live it out before your co-workers. That is what Paul did. While living in Corinth, he plied his trade of tentmaking, and taught in the local synagogue. Through his efforts a church was born, a church that later received two epistles we still read in the New Testament. Today we listen as the power of the gospel extends further into ancient Greece. more >>

It is sung by Christians and non-believers alike and has been used in recent Olympic ceremonies, presidential inaugurations, and memorials for the 9-11 terrorist attacks. It’s pretty amazing that a song written over two centuries ago still resonates today as a “spiritual anthem” for the modern world. Dr. David Jeremiah reveals the song and the powerful story behind it, as we begin a new series, Captured by Grace. more >>

  • The Normal Christian Life - Day 2
  • Hank continues his discussion with Andrew Yu and Chris Wilde about Watchman Nee's classic book, The Normal Christian Life. more >>

Robert McGee's best-selling book has helped millions of readers learn how to be free to enjoy Christ's love while no longer basing their self-worth on their accomplishments or the opinions of others. In fact, Billy Graham said that it was a book that "should be read by every Christian."

In this re-launch of this timeless classic you will:

  • Gain new skills for getting off the performance treadmill
  • Discover how four false beliefs have negatively impacted your life
  • Learn how to overcome obstacles that prevent you from experiencing the truth that your self-worth is found only in the love, acceptance, and forgiveness of Christ

The spiritual premise in The Purpose-Driven Life is that there are no accidents---God planned everything and everyone. Therefore, every human has a divine purpose, according to God's master plan. Like a twist on John F. Kennedy's famous inaugural address, this book could be summed up like this: "So my fellow Christians, ask not what God can do for your life plan, ask what your life can do for God's plan." Those who are looking for advice on finding one's calling through career choice, creative expression, or any form of self-discovery should go elsewhere. This is not about self-exploration; it is about purposeful devotion to a Christian God. The book is set up to be a 40-day immersion plan, recognizing that the Bible favors the number 40 as a "spiritually significant time," according to author Rick Warren, the founding pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, touted as one of the nation largest congregations. Warren's hope is that readers will "interact" with the 40 chapters, reading them one day at a time, with extensive underlining and writing in the margins. As an inspirational manifesto for creating a more worshipful, church-driven life, this book delivers. Every page is laden with references to scripture or dogma. But it does not do much to address the challenges of modern Christian living, with its competing material, professional, and financial distractions. Nonetheless, this is probably an excellent resource for devout Christians who crave a jumpstart back to worshipfulness. --Gail Hudson
